Tyrone Hanley
President

Tyrone Hanley (he/him), the newly re-elected GLAA President, is an organizer and longtime DC resident who started in LGBTQ+ advocacy at the University of Richmond in Virginia. He moved to DC to serve in AmeriCorps as a Washington AIDS Partnership program participant at HIPS.
John Becker
Vice President for Political Affairs
John Becker is an LGBT activist, writer, and blogger and is thrilled to be joining the GLAA team as vice president.
Benjamin Brooks
Vice President of Communications for GLAA
Benjamin Brooks (he/him), newly elected Vice President of Communications for GLAA, believes in the power of art and culture to transform society. Ben’s love of art comes from his continent-spanning childhood, where he grew up in a multi-generational family of artists. He learned from his mother that the act of creation can unlock hidden truths and express the otherwise inexpressible.
Joe Servido
Vice President of Community Partnerships
Joe Servidio (they/them), newly elected Vice President of Community Partnerships, is excited to join the GLAA Board to reassert queer interests in D.C. public policy. Joe came to D.C. in 2012 to attend Georgetown University. Upon graduation, Joe completed an AmeriCorps service year at Joseph’s House, a hospice and respite home in Adams Morgan for chronically unhoused people living with HIV and/or other chronic illnesses.
David Mullis
David Mullis (he/him), newly elected Vice President of Legislative Affairs for GLAA, is excited to bring together community and action to bring about change.

Founded in 1971, GLAA is an all-volunteer, non-partisan, non-profit political organization that defends the civil rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the Nation's Capital.

GLAA lobbies the D.C. Council; monitors government agencies; educates and rates local candidates; and works in coalitions to defend the safety, health and equal rights of LGBT families. GLAA remains the nation's oldest continuously active gay and lesbian civil rights organization.
