Thank you for your March 30, 2000, letter to Councilmember Brazil concerning the funding of the Citizen Complaint Review Board. I believe that the Board needs and deserves additional funding, and I wish that the Mayor's budget had accurately reflected the Board's needs. Of particular significance is that the amount needed would be dedicated to contract services — such as mediation — that have the potential to resolve a majority of the complaints received by the Board. Again, I believe your concerns are valid and I appreciate being kept informed on this important issue.
