Friends,

In case you haven't caught it yet, the anti-gay group National Organization for [Straight-Only] Marriage last week started running an obnoxious radio ad in D.C. against marriage equality. Here's a link, thanks to DC for Marriage:

Naturally, they treat the prospect of legal equality for same-sex couples and their families as an assault on everyone else, including (you guessed it) children. All the more reason for you to contact your DC Council representatives and urge them to stand firm in the second and final Council vote tomorrow (May 5) to recognize same-sex marriages from other jurisdictions, and to show up yourself in the Council chamber as early as 8 a.m. to get a seat for the 10 a.m. legislative session. The other side has announced their intention of packing the relatively small chamber, so beat them to it--and wear white to show your support for marriage equality.
