Mayor of the District of Columbia
1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.
Suite 316
Washington, D.C. 20004
Dear Mayor Gray:
The Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance of Washington (GLAA) enthusiastically endorses the nomination of Richard Morgan for another term on the D.C. Public Service Commission.
We had extensive dealings with Commissioner Morgan several years ago when we were trying to persuade PEPCO and the Washington Gas Light Company to adopt domestic partnership benefit programs. Commissioner Morgan made an invaluable outreach to us when he learned of our interest, even coming to one of our meetings. He was exceptionally helpful in explaining the public utility regulatory process to us and how we might present our case. We owe him quite a bit of credit for the successful outcome of our campaign.
His sensitivity to our concerns and his willingness to be of assistance is consistent with his overall record of strong community relations while serving on the PSC. Accordingly, we hope you will agree with us that he has earned another term.
Sincerely,
Mitch Wood
President, GLAA
